I had already started shopping for the girls and their expensive lists of Apple watches, Dr Martens and Clothes, when Calli asked if Mati could come spend Christmas with us. Of course, we were excited to share that with him. However, American Christmas's are A LOT different than Christmas's in Argentina. We were worried of completely overwhelming him, so we decided to have 2 Christmas's. One before he got there with some of the bigger gifts they had asked for and then Christmas morning with smaller gifts.
We still wanted each "Christmas" to be special so we planned fun things for each day.
For our 1st Christmas, we hid their gifts around the house and had a scavenger hunt finding them
Looking for their gifts.
After all the gifts were found, we sat downstairs and opened them.
Gentry's favorites were, Apple watch, disco ball and guitar.
Sadie's favorites were, mirror for her room, Apple watch, clothes and guitar.
Calli's favorites were a TV and Amazon stick for her apartment, a printer for her phone, hair extensions and gym clothes.
Adam's favorites were Drone, corn hole and a pirate ship for the fish tank. Some of my favorites were Kitchen aid, Apple watch and clock.
After gifts we had Fondue for dinner and played games. Austin and Mati came for dinner and games.
The girls thought it was all so fun!
Christmas Eve!
Adam, Mati and I met up with Cains for Christmas Eve Razor ride.
We hadn't been on a ride with them for a while so it was good to hang out again.
We drove down to the gorge and overlooked Cedar Pockets. It was so pretty but sooo cold.
After a 3 hour ride, I was so glad to get home and in a warm shower.
That night we had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner at China Palace.
Snapped a picture of Adam waiting to pay, just because he's cute!
After dinner, we grabbed Hot Chocolate and went and walked the Red Hills Gardens.
After the gardens and before our Christmas Eve Party, we invited Lyman over to read us his famous Christmas Story.
Time for some gifts. They all opened gifts from grandma and grandpa Losee. They were thrilled to find socks and money. She even got some for Austin and Mati. They all insisted that they were the favorite grandchild.
Then we opened our Christmas Eve Pajamas. I wanted shirts that represented the year 2020 but wanted pants that they could wear anytime. I found Puma sweatpants for all of us at Costco and made the shirts. "Christmas 2020. The one where we were all quarantined" (Spoof from Friends) They were a hit.
After Pajamas and pictures we got a knock on the door from this masked creeper and his little minon. (We laughed so hard when we went back and looked at the ring and found this)
Ryan had made Adam 2 wooden sticks and a metal pole. (see past camping post for inside joke) It was hilarious.
After our visitors, we continued with our night.
They opened a Wonderball, full of gift cards, candy and prizes.
They had a blast.
After the wonder ball, Mati showed us an Argentinian Toast that they do on Christmas Eve.
Calli and Mati spent the night and they had no intentions of getting to bed early, so around midnight, Adam and I slipped away to get some sleep and set our alarms to get up early and set up Christmas while the rest of them stayed up and partied.
Merry Christmas 2020!
Sadie had been so worried that with the changes, Christmas wouldn't be as magical. She was pleasantly mistaken. It was every bit as magical as always.
Looks like Santa found us!
They kids all slept in until 9:00am
Traditional line up on the stairs. Calli happily gave up her spot for Mati this year.
Stockings are always first!
Opening Gifts
Calli realizing that she got Mati English scriptures instead of Spanish. It didn't matter to Mati, he loved and appreciated everything he got.
The aftermath.
Calli had already boxed up her gifts so I didn't get a great picture of her pile, but some of her favorites were Nike Butterfly shoes, Dr Marten Boots, Scrubs and Salt Lamp
Sadie's favorites were Air pods, Converse shoes, Clothes and Coats
The impossible shoes to find that I somehow ended up finding. Gentry's favorites were, Dr Marten Boots, Lava Lamp, Gel Nails and clothes. Adam's favorites were hiking boots, shirts, and a shotgun disk thrower, and mine was a Minky blanket, Air Fryer and Blog Book. Mati's was hoodie, pocket knife, Christus Statue, Scriptures and Hydroflask.
Gentry playing on the new go cart, thingy.
It was hilarious, just watching the flag zoom around the kitchen.
Big Christmas Breakfast.
Sadie's Turn.
We got Mati and Austin Nerf guns and 200 bullets so of course, an all out war pursued. Adam was right in the middle of it all.
Calli getting in on the action.
Took a shot right to the head. Haha!
After about an hour and all us covered in welts, we called truce. We were finding bullets everywhere for days. Haha!
We spent the rest of the night playing games and of course Poker. I ended up being the big winner of the night! It was such a great few days. we did not want it to end. It was a good finale to 2020 and a much needed weekend with family, food and laughter.
Gift to my mom and dad from all of us siblings. Turned out so great!
